Frequent Questions and Answers

Micro Deposits

In order to verify your bank account information, we send two small deposits to your bank account and then ask that you report the deposit amounts back to us.
To verify the micro-deposits, navigate to “Linked Accounts” and select “Verify" next to the corresponding bank entry. Enter the two deposit amounts and select “Enter.” The bank will be verified only if the deposit amounts match for the corresponding bank entry.
When we make two small deposits into your bank account, you have a limited time to verify those deposits in the app. After this time has expired, you won't see your account listed under "Linked Accounts," and you'll need to initiate the process again.
If the amounts you report match what we sent, your bank account will be verified. Please note that it may take 1-2 business days to receive the micro-deposits.
We rely entirely on our customer’s input when sending micro-deposits for verification. Given that errors may arise when entering account information, we encourage our customers to take extra care to enter information accurately and to include any leading/trailing zeroes when entering account and routing numbers. Also, please be sure to select ‘Savings’ or ‘Checking’ (located at the top of the “Link Account” screen) as appropriate for your account.

Recurring Deposits

Grow supports automatic deposits on a weekly, biweekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. To get started, go to the Accounts screen and select ‘Automatic Deposits’.

Bank Transfer Reversal

An ACH reversal is a cancelled transfer of funds. ACH reversals may occur under the following conditions: insufficient funds, wrong type of account (non-transactional), duplicate transaction, or a declined. To check how much cash is available for withdrawal, go to your Account Summary. 
When reversed, funds will be placed back in the originating account and incur a $30 fee. Reversal fees are charged by Grow’s clearing partner FOLIOfn, therefore Grow is not authorized to waive fees after they have been charged to your account.
An email will be delivered immediately to notify you of the reversal. Inquiries related to ACH reversal should first be directed to your bank.

Withdrawal Restrictions

For anti-money laundering and risk management purposes, deposits must remain in your account for a minimum of 5 business days after settlement prior to withdrawal. Typically, the funds will be available for withdrawal on the 6th business day. 
Proceeds from a sale typically take 3 business days to settle, after which they are available for withdrawal.

Account Protection & Security

Grow is a subsidiary of Seed Financial Services, Inc. a member of the Financial Industry Regulator Authority (FINRA) and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) which protects cash and securities held in customer accounts up to $500,000 (including $250,000 cash). Grow uses bank-level security measures to protect your personal information. Your password, social security number, and other sensitive data are encrypted. Our mobile and web applications communicate securely using SSL and 256-bit encryption.
We do not store your online banking credentials and never will. Your banking credentials are used once to authenticate and verify that the account you provided belongs to you. 
Within the app, you can securely access your account using Touch ID or a custom PIN code.
